It’s a cold, lazy Sunday afternoon. What’s a fun family activity to do? Have a WAR!
War at our house is taken quite seriously. Huge fortresses of blankets/sheets/pillows are built. Teams are chosen, the big guns are brought out, strategy is worked on, and ammo is sorted. Then the fighting begins.
One team is upstairs on the balcony, the other is downstairs by the front door. There are over 100 pieces of ammo.
On team #1 upstairs is Doodlebug, Golden Boy & Wild Child
A fiercer (is that a word?) team has never been seen.
Wild Child, has ice in his veins
Downstairs is Lil Miss Thang, an excellent shot and fearless.
She also has laser sighting.

Doodlebug hits the bulls eye every time. She has patience and determination ~ making her a fierce war machine.
Hot hubby is outright dangerous. He’s ruthless and mows em down effortlessly.
The battle raged for minutes, and then time outs happened to regroup & re strategize. The rule was once you were hit 4 times, you were out. They used the honor system, which often led to arguments & sometimes tears from Golden Boy.
The downstairs team, had the advantage of the machine gun. It pumps darts out like crazy and is often used to storm the upstairs team. The upstairs team doesn’t stand a chance against the machine gun.
Unless they take cover and get low.

As a final act of desperation, Hot Hubby stormed the stairs with the machine gun, I took a dart to the eye and decided to retire my war photography.
Love the nerf war pics! My kids do this all the time, and we’d never thought of using sheets & blankets like that. I will pass that on to the nerf committee at my house! LOL
